Dear reader,
In my directory this month, you'll find two pictures, called Asylum and
Under-The-Sea. Rendered in LightWave 3D V3.5, but mostly modelled in Imagine 4
because I can't get the hang of that Modeller thing!
Also, in the Readers Games section, you'll see my game WB-Colony. It's
another Workbench game. It's a two-player territory game based on a maths
problem! I wrote the original years ago and AUI put it on their coverdisks.
If you like this game then be advised that it is CD-Single-Ware. This means
that if you like the game you should send me the WORST CD single you've ever
bought or been bought. It's like shareware, but I don't want your money, I
want your old CD's!
Also, there's a little utility to run programs from your workbench screen
via a nice little window with lovely gadgets. It's called Launcher, and it's
something I've been looking for for years but couldn't find, so I wrote it
myself! In Blitz Basic 2! This is version 1.2. Versions 1.0 and 1.1 were
internal versions I created and never released because I kept adding new
features! There is a small config file included in the release with 9 gadgets.
It is set to my systems configuration, so you will have to change the paths and
filenames for your system using Launcher-Prefs. Still, it's so easy! Also, I
have included two example script files to use with Launcher (for opening a CLI
window and mounting CD0). Please note that it too is CD-Single Ware. You
should honour this status by sending me a bad CD-Single of some description
- No Rick Astley! It must be in good working condition though!
If you want a personalised version, send me a disk with your name and
address and a stamped self addressed envelope (along with your trashy CD) and
I'll make one for you, from the latest version I'm working on.
Any bug reports then tell me. What machines does/doesn't it work on? What
did you try to do before the bug reared its smeggy little head?
Any comments? Write me...
